Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation with over 300 employees and is committed to delivering quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training services in over 11 locations across the Perth metropolitan, Goldfields and South West regions.

The Service

The Family Relationship Centre provides a comprehensive assessment service for families, including grandparents, seeking advice, support and referrals to family relationship services, including family dispute resolution. This service is a source of information for families at all stages, including people starting relationships, those waiting to make their relationships stronger, those experiencing relationship difficulties and those affected when families separate. The service is managed from the Midland Centrecare branch.

The Role 

A management position within a partnership program, as Team Leader you will oversee, guide and support the delivery of the program, lead a team of professionals and build relationships with external stakeholders with a focus to have children living in safe, stable nurturing environments.

A few specifics:

  • Supporting staff to liaise with the Department of Communities and partner agencies
  • Liaison with key stakeholders as required and participate in community networking events
  • Reporting, reviewing statistics, contribute to management board reports
  • Monthly management supervision with staff and group case management reviews
  • Networking with stakeholders, liaising with program stakeholders and attending relevant funding body meetings
  • Training staff on internal processes

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor in Psychology, Social Work, Law, Counselling and/or related disciplines.
  • Qualified and experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner in Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and external standards in relation to Child Protection
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with other organisations to achieve positive community outcomes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of child inclusive practice.
  • Well-developed communication skills, written and verbal.
  • An understanding of culturally appropriate, strength-based approaches to client services.
  • WA Drivers Licence.
  • National Police Certificate (within 12 months validity).
  • Working with Children Check or the ability to obtain.
