The Service

Family Law Counselling aims to assist people with relationship difficulties to better manage their interpersonal and parental issues during and post separation.

The Role

We are seeking experienced and qualified Counsellors to join our Family Law Counselling service located at our Kalgoorlie office. The role will be to support individuals and couples to improve relationships in the best interest of children and families by providing safe alternatives to formal legal processes and to ensure efficient and positive support for children and families during this process.

A few specifics:

Maximum term contract to 30 June 2026.

  • Screening, assessments and support planning.
  • Selecting and providing appropriate brief intervention supports for clients whether they be clients or carers.
  • Assessing supports and ensuring that they are appropriate to meeting client's needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based counselling and group interventions.
  • Referring and assisting clients to access appropriate mainstream specialist services and support groups; and
  • Providing information and education to clients, carers, families and other service providers; and providing and/or arranging support for carers and families.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Childhood Development and/or Family studies and related disciplines or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in case management and coordination of client services.
  • Demonstrated experience in intake, assessment and case management.
  • Understanding of Family Law.
  • National Police Certificate (within 12 months validity).
  • WA Drivers Licence.
