About the Service

Centrecare, in partnership with Wungening Aboriginal Corporation, delivers the Beyond Youth Justice Service (BYJS), providing coordinated, evidence-based support to young people engaged with the youth justice system and their families. The service focuses on rehabilitation, emotional wellbeing, and practical support to help young people achieve positive outcomes while enhancing community safety.

 

Operating across metropolitan Perth, the service brings together a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering culturally responsive, therapeutic interventions that create lasting change for young people and their communities.

 

About the role

Centrecare is seeking a Team Leader to oversee service delivery within the South Hub of our Beyond Youth Justice Service. Leading a multidisciplinary team of youth workers across Centrecare and Wungening Aboriginal Corporation, you will provide operational leadership, management supervision, and clinical oversight to ensure high-quality, evidence-based services are delivered to young people involved in the youth justice system.

 

This is a unique opportunity to lead within a well-established partnership model, working alongside passionate professionals who are committed to improving outcomes for young people, families and the broader community.

 

This is a full-time 12-month Maximum Term Contract based primarily in Gosnells. The role works across a combination of Monday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday rosters, shared with another Team Leader

 

A Few Specifics

  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary team of up to 10 staff across Centrecare and Wungening Aboriginal Corporation.
  • Provide regular supervision, coaching and professional development to team members.
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with Centrecare's Therapeutic Framework and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor program outcomes, reporting, quality assurance and service performance.
  • Provide leadership in complex case discussions and group case management.
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with funding bodies and partner agencies.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and best-practice service delivery.
  • Participate in the on-call roster supporting Centrecare Justice Services as required.

 

Selection Criteria (must be addressed and submitted with the application)

  • Recognised tertiary level qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, Counselling and/or related disciplines.
  • Previous leadership experience (at least 2 years) within therapeutic, counselling or community services.
  • Experience in planning and monitoring the delivery of services to young people at risk of offending (including intake, screening, assessment, counselling, appropriate support services and evaluation of services).
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and external standards that apply to relevant work practices.
  • Well-developed communication skills, written and verbal.
  • An understanding of culturally appropriate, strength-based approaches to client services.
  • Experience providing management supervision and leading group case management.
  • Ability to lead and work within a multiagency, multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work Tuesday to Saturday.
  • Hold a current driver’s license.
  • Current National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 12 months).
  • A Current Working with Children Check or the ability to obtain one.
