Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation with just over 300 employees and is committed to delivering quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, mediation, and training services: in over 11 locations across the Perth Metro, Goldfields and Bunbury region.

 

This position is based at our Gosnells office and is one of two Team Leader roles overseeing and guiding the Entrypoint suite of services, with particular focus on Entrypoint Early Intervention & Prevention and Homelessness Services Connectors.

 

About the Service

Centrecare delivers the Entrypoint suite of services, providing assessment, referral, and brief intervention for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.  The service supports access to appropriate accommodation and support pathways.  This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued expansion and development of homelessness service responses.

 

About the Role

This role provides leadership, oversight, and coordination to ensure the delivery of high-quality, contractually compliant services.

 

You will lead a multidisciplinary team supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, with a focus on prevention, early intervention, and reducing time spent in the homelessness system.  Clients may present with complex needs, including family and domestic violence, substance use, mental health concerns, and suicidal ideation.

 

We are seeking a motivated and values-driven leader who is committed to supporting both staff and clients.  The successful applicant will demonstrate a therapeutic, evidence-informed practice approach, experience working with complex needs associated with homelessness, and the ability to lead and develop staff.

 

A few specifics

  • Lead and support a team of Case Workers and Tenancy Support Officers delivering brief intervention services in the community.
  • Provide guidance on complex cases and support sound clinical decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and participate in community networking events.
  • Draft reports, review data, and contribute to management board reports.
  • Provide regular management supervision with staff and group case management reviews.
  • Provide training and development to staff on internal processes.

 

What we are looking for

We are seeking a strong, collaborative leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to work both autonomously and in partnership with senior management to achieve contractual requirements.  You will demonstrate the ability to support, mentor, and develop staff with a solution focused and strengths-based approach.

 

To be successful, you will need:

  • Recognised tertiary level qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, Counselling and/or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex needs, including mental health, AOD, and family & domestic violence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience providing supervision and leading group case management processes.
  • Ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Hold a current WA driver’s license.
  • Current National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 12 months).
  • A Current Working with Children Check or the ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to work on a 7-day roster with a combination of shifts, including weekends.
