About Centrecare 

Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation with over 300 employees and is committed to delivering quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training services in over 11 locations across the Perth metropolitan, Goldfields and South West regions.

The Service

Centrecare delivers two Child and Parent Centre's from East Maddington and Gosnells Primary in partnership with the Department of Education and the Department for Child Protection and Family Support, providing a range of easily accessible programs and services for families, including early learning programs, maternal and child health services, and child support activities.

The Role 

As a Creche Worker you will provide high-quality care for children attending the Creche at either of the Child and Parent Centres located on the school grounds of East Maddington and Gosnells Primary. Integral to the role is to treat parents and their children in a professional, courteous and caring manner that respects and appreciates differences related to race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, personal values, age, disability, and economic or veteran status.

This is a casual position consisting of 3-hour shifts, exact times and location may vary, however, most run during school hours.

A few specifics:

  • Closely supervise children at all times.
  • Set up activities, equipment and toys.
  • Provide children with opportunities to participate in a range of play activities.
  • Interact warmly with parents and children at all times.
  • Model good social skills.
  • Provide an environment for children that is safe, clean, and free of hazards.
  • Report details of any incidents/accidents.

Selection Criteria

  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, Children’s Services or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children 0 to 8 years.
  • Proven ability to implement a variety of age-appropriate activities and experiences.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work across all cultures and backgrounds.
  • Current unrestricted WA Driver’s licence.
  • Valid Working With Children Check.
  • National Police Certificate (within 12 months validity).
  • Current nationally recognised First Aid Certificate.
