The Role 

The Group Facilitator will work within the Reintegration and Parenting program team to plan and deliver group sessions to individuals within the prison who are referred to the program, delivering a range of parenting programs that best meet the group needs. Women and men are in separate sessions and programs are specifically designed for incarcerated.

A few specifics:

  • Facilitate group sessions providing advice and family support designed to build and maintain healthy connection to their children, partners and broader families.
  • Lifeskills education is also provided to equip clients with the life skills to make a smooth transition back into the community.
  • Conduct risk assessments and contribute to safety planning, always prioritising the safety of women and children.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to ongoing case reviews and program evaluation.

Selection Criteria

  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or other related disciplines.
  • Experience in delivering parenting programs in a group setting.
  • Experience in both group facilitation and provision of one-to-one supports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and support a range of people from CALD community, in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Demonstrated ability to be part of a team and to work autonomously contributing towards quality service delivery and positive client outcomes.
  • National Police Certificate (within 12 months validity).
  • WA Drivers licence and own vehicle.
