About Wungening Aboriginal Corporation - Wungening is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation delivering counselling, education, advocacy and support services including drug and alcohol, family violence support and accommodation, adult justice services and earlier intervention family support services.  

The Role

The Case Worker - ReSet is an important role within the Consortium, responsible for delivering comprehensive throughcare support services, working closely with the ReSet team and Consortium partners. The position involves active participation in the Adult Justice Reintegration Service, integrating evidence-based practices for offender rehabilitation and reintegration, aligned with the Department of Justice’s Individualised and Integrated Offender Management (IIOM).

  • Conduct client assessments to develop case plans and referrals based on identified needs.
  • Implement case management and counselling techniques to support offenders' reintegration.
  • Maintain documentation including case notes, assessments, and support plans.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide family and domestic violence risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management.
  • Support individuals in crisis through specialist referrals and tailored throughcare programs.

Selection Criteria

  • Clinical and counselling experience in an adult justice reintegration support setting.
  • A bachelor's degree qualification (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Criminology and Justice or a relevant area.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Justice setting or similar field, with clinical, case management and counselling experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities in a culturally responsive way.
  • Valid WA Driver's licence (within 12 months validity).
  • Ability to obtain a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Integrity Check.
  • Ability to obtain a Working With Children Check.
